my studio is behind an amazing vintage and antique shop. Sometimes on the way to the studio...i get a peek of some really inspiring treasures! i loved these little handmade dolls and had to take their picture. the collection reminded me of a fairy tale ball with a catholic nun chaperon.
I'm making room in my studio for a new project! So a little Summer Sale is in order. I've listed the three paintings above in my etsy shop. The trio are from 2004-2005 and have been part of my collection for some time. All three are oil paintings and measure 16x24 inches on wood panel. Thes are more pictures and information on them in my etsy shop.
i took a series of pictures as i worked on this piece the other day. its my first large scale drawing using pen and ink and to tell the truth i was terrified of spilling the ink or having a droplet land on her face. no accidents, but today my left hand is cramped from holding the ink well so tightly:)
Yesterday i pulled out my biggest piece of clean white paper. it'd been awhile since i had done any large scale work on paper. Didn't know where i might go with it but ended up spending about 6 hours in the studio working on the drawing above. not quite sure if she'd done yet, when i left last night my eyes were to fatigued to see straight....
original mixed media painting on 10x10 inch wood panel. I took the picture below in my studio, it shows the lost and found painting just before I added the boarder and in the upper left it shows a very early stage of the painting I posted yesterday. She eventually turned into a popsicle stick legged girl in bathing suit and swimmies. I added the little Lost and Found to my etsy shop this morning.
I guess food has been on my mind:) I just finished these two new pieces. The top one is an 8x10 inch mixed media painting on birch wood panel and the bottom girl is a mixed media collage made with vintage recipe paper, cork and custom spoonflower fabric. I just added both of them to my etsy shop this morning.
