my dad probably took this picture. it didn't snow a lot where i grew up so whenever it did the camera always came out. my mom is hugging my older sister and i'm in the background with the broom:) i'm pretty sure my mother made our matching winter coats and she for sure made my sisters frilly knitted cap.

caught in the act of some late spring cleaning. my studio is cozy so i have to stay on top of my clutter habit. i just finished the painting peeking from behind my left shoulder. hopefully i can get a good picture of her today.

i wish i had a better view of the doll behind my sister. my mom made most of our cloths and toys when we were little so i'm guessing she must have sewn this one from a preprinted fabric doll pattern. early inspiration for the dolls i make now:D

Yesterday i pulled out my biggest piece of clean white paper. it'd been awhile since i had done any large scale work on paper. Didn't know where i might go with it but ended up spending about 6 hours in the studio working on the drawing above. not quite sure if she'd done yet, when i left last night my eyes were to fatigued to see straight....

we were both enjoying the sun yesterday the little old man let me take his picture.
my sister found this picture of the two of us her garage the other day. I think I am about four years old here. My mom always went all out for Halloween sewing homemade costumes, making crepe paper wigs, the works. I was a smidge shorter than my sister so I got to wear the dress:)
and the next day my arm was killing me!
